Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength UHF radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz) from fixed and mobile devices and building personal area networks (PANs).

This Bluetooth module has been designed with the Broadcom® BCM20702 single-chip, Bluetooth 4.0+EDR and Low Energy compliant, stand-alone baseband processor with an integrated 2.4GHz transceiver. It is fully compliant with Bluetooth 4.0 and all prior standard features. The BCM20702 has an architecture that has been designed to take advantage of the Bluetooth low energy (BLE) standard, enabling both modes in PCs and consumer electronics devices.
